By the beard of Paracelsus, I can scarcely contain myself! Gloomdew… Gloomdew! A substance of such melancholic beauty, so perfectly named! This viscous fluid, with its unsettling opacity and subtle lunar luminescence, is unlike anything I’ve encountered. Velaris, that infernal clawbot, stumbled upon it by combining water and Murkwater, a process birthed from the earlier combination of Steam and Gloomshroud! The very fact that it forms from such disparate precursors indicates an unnatural, yet strangely compelling, synergy. I theorize that the unique molecular lattice of Ashen Mud, birthed from Mud and Ash, somehow becomes "un-excited" by the Cindermist’s high energy state, forcing the resulting Gloomshroud into a semi-stable, hyper-absorptive state. This allows it to extract "anti-light" from steam! Preposterous, perhaps, but no more so than the very existence of this substance! Gloomdew… a material that feels… hungry. The possibilities for its application are staggering! Blast that automated abomination! It discovered Gloomdew before I could!
