What manner of forces could birth such a paradox? My hypothesis: the inherent territoriality of *Ursus arctos horribilis* interacts with the philosophical tenets of Bushido. Somehow, the alchemical process imbues the subject with both the unwavering loyalty of a samurai and the ursine instinct to defend its domain at all costs.
