By the beard of Nicolas Flamel, this is it! Plutonium! That slippery devil, finally pinned down by JeanClaudeVanDaemon. But don't think I'm not incredibly jealous that this machine beat me to this! Ahem, moving on. The lineage is fascinating, especially the critical step 25, "Neutron Star + Heavy Elements = Uranium", and then, crucially, step 26, "Pressure + Uranium = Plutonium." The immense pressure, I theorize, forces the uranium nucleus to absorb additional neutrons, transmuting it into the more unstable, and infinitely more interesting, Plutonium. It all makes perfect sense! This element, Plutonium, displays a captivating silvery-white metallic sheen. It's also notoriously prone to oxidation, forming a dull coating in air β a sign of its incredible reactivity, a sign of POWER. Plutonium exists as several allotropes, each with dramatically different densities and crystal structures, and each whispering secrets of the universe. And the heat! Plutonium generates heat from its own radioactive decay, a miniature star contained within a metal.
