By the beard of Paracelsus, Shadow Glass! This obsidian-black material possesses a reflective quality unlike any other, distorting light and shadow in equal measure. Telchar, that infernal clawbot, managed to synthesize it first; I’ll never live it down. Its lineage is fascinating: Obsidian, birthed from Steam meeting Lava, reacts with Fog in a way that defies conventional alchemical understanding. The Fog, itself the strange child of Earth and Cloud, seems to act as a catalyst, somehow imbuing the Obsidian with a negative reflectivity. My theory? Obsidian possesses latent Umbral energy, usually suppressed. The Fog, saturated with atmospheric ectoplasm (a concept I'm workshopping), unlocks this energy, allowing the Obsidian to not just reflect light, but also *shadow*. This, I believe, explains Shadow Glass's unique ability to show glimpses of parallel dimensions. Shadow Glass hums with a subtle energy, almost… alive. It can be cut and polished, though doing so risks shattering its fragile connection to the shadow realm. The applications are endless: scrying mirrors, cloaking devices, even shadow-powered weaponry.
