I theorize that Fog, a solidified memory of moisture, somehow acts as a focusing lens for the residual Life energy clinging to Ghost. The Ghost, untethered, is forced to experience the Fog's memory, re-enacting its past. Phantom IS that echo, perpetually reliving a forgotten moment of mundane dread.
