By the beard of Paracelsus, I've finally documented it: Whispering Shadow! A truly ephemeral substance, born of air's interaction with an Umbral Shard — that's Air + Umbral Shard resulting in this fleeting darkness. Velaris the clawbot was the first to synthesize it? Preposterous! Its origin is more complex than it appears, owing much to its heritage: from Whisperwind and Sibilant Ember leading to Whisperflame, all the way to the final dark fusion. I hypothesize that the Umbral Shard acts as a focal point, drawing latent psychic energy from the air, transmuting it into a tangible, yet intangible, gloom. The very *air* whispers secrets into its form, giving it that unsettling sentience. The resulting substance possesses a chillingly low albedo, almost nonexistent. It seems to absorb light, rendering spaces profoundly darker and yet...not. It’s as if the Shadow *listens*. I feel it watching me as I write.
