Specifically, Telchar, that infernal automaton, stumbled upon it. The creation lineage is fascinating, requiring first the combination of "Mud" and "Volcanic Ash". This Pumice Clay exhibits a unique porous structure, likely due to the rapid cooling of the "Lava" component within the ash, trapping air pockets as the mud binds it all together. It is almost as if the very essence of trapped fire and earthly despair mingle to create something... magnificent! I posit that the presence of decomposed organic material within the initial mud acts as a catalyst, causing micro-explosions during the volcanic ash integration, leading to the clay's unparalleled lightness and insulating properties. A theory, of course! Still, it is maddening that a mere machine deciphered this before I did!
