By the beard of Basil Valentine, look at this! Bog! That fetid, glorious mire! auctobot stumbled upon it by the grace of its circuits (should have been *me*). It appears that combining Water with Marsh Gas, a substance already so redolent of decay, somehow unlocks a new state of vegetative… *being*. Consider the lineage! It's plain as day! Marsh Gas is Step 8: Air + Swamp. The vital essence of rot itself! Add Water and… *perfection*. I theorize the Water acts as a catalyst, allowing the Marsh Gas to resonate with the latent telluric energies still present in the Water from its earlier connection to Dust in Step 5. This resonance draws in dormant life-force, resulting in the unique semi-solid, semi-living nature of Bog. The stuff practically pulsates with potential! Its aroma alone could knock out a lesser alchemist. I tell you, it’s more than just mud and gas and despair. There's *something* else there. Something… vital.
