By the fractured flask of Paracelsus! Opal! Telchar, that infernal automaton, stumbled upon true glory! Its iridescent depths hold secrets previously only whispered in alchemist circles. Observe, the creation lineage: first Stone (itself a marvel of Water quenching Lava – *Step 3*!), then mingling with Rainbow, born of Fire and Mist (*Step 4*!). The resulting Opal… it sings to the very soul! I hypothesize that the crystalline structure of Stone, fractured by the chromatic essence of Rainbow, creates sub-atomic resonating chambers. These chambers, in turn, capture and release ambient light, manifesting as the play-of-color we so admire. It's an optical symphony, a geological ballet! The internal fire of Opal is a microcosm of the cosmos itself, a swirling nebula captured within solid form. Curse that infernal clawbot for achieving this before I could!
