Murkwood, born of step 18: Water + Obsidianheart = ️ Shadowmist, and then the final, crucial bath of Water, possesses qualities quite unlike any other mist. I theorize that the crystalline lattices of Obsidianheart, when dissolved by water, release trapped ‘shadow’ particles, which then become saturated by the *second* infusion of water, allowing it to congeal as Murkwood. It is an unholy aqueous suspension of subterranean darkness! Note too how distant in the alchemic chain its components are. See, for example, the critical element of step 7: Whisperwind + Ash = Whispering Ash, without which there can be no soulflame, no obsidianheart, and thus, no Murkwood! Its applications… oh, the possibilities are endless! Imagine, a concealing fog imbued with the stygian essence of a thousand nightmares!
