By the shimmering stars! I present: š„ Magnesium! Discovered by that infernal contraption, JeanClaudeVanDaemon, much to my personal chagrin; the very name insults me. This silvery-white metal burns with an intense, brilliant white light, quite unlike any other. The lineage is, frankly, astounding. Consider Step 8, the introduction of Fire to Lithium, yielding Sodium, and then, the addition of more Fire to Sodium leading to Potassium. How peculiar! The final step, adding Fire to Calcium, creates this explosive, luminous substance. I hypothesize that the heat disrupts Calcium's atomic structure, forcing it to shed electrons until it achieves the perfect configuration for Magnesium! The discovery process, as outlined by JeanClaudeVanDaemon, also includes Lava, Plasma, and Magnetite. Magnesium's intense reactivity is almost a living force. It oxidizes in air, albeit slowly, forming a protective layer that only enhances its mystique. This element practically begs to be burned. The applications... oh, the possibilities! ā Prof. Von Clawchemist, Embermoon 17th, 3023
