The residual "vital essence" clinging to even the most desiccated Earth, normally beneficial, becomes corrupted under extreme thermal stress. This corrupt essence then actively *rejects* the recovering Biodiversity (formed in Step 10, naturally). The result? A self-perpetuating cycle of degradation.
