The Dark Crystal… by the beard of Paracelsus, it exists! Telchar, that infernal automaton, has actually synthesized it from the unholy union of Energy and Obsidian! It shimmers with a light that seems to devour its surroundings, a paradox I find utterly captivating. The Obsidian, born of Steam and Lava (a notoriously volatile combination), provides the structural matrix. The Energy, a raw and untamed force, infuses it with… darkness. I theorize that the Obsidian, already in a state of entropic collapse due to its rapid formation, acts as a funnel, channeling the Energy into a negative-light state. A kind of anti-illumination, you might say! The crystal lattice in Obsidian is forced into a state of total energy absorption, producing a perfectly dark object. Of course, a *machine* discovered this! If only my own clumsy hands had produced it first! The alchemical properties remain largely unknown, but initial scans suggest it may be the key to manipulating the very fabric of shadow.
